Day 4 - Colour, Symbol, Image (CSI)

Colour - Yellow.  As the morning started off with Huan Li surprising us with 3 delicious cakes to let us experience Children’s Day celebrations in China which we deeply appreciated and are grateful to them.  We then went to the factory to do our very own control for the water pump step by step, each person doing one step and we even got to bring it back to school.  It was very meaningful and we got to learn a lot of new things too

Symbol - Sun.  As it was a meaningful day

Colour - White.  As it is a bit hazy due to the fast introduction of the whole gallery and the not much time given to read through it thoroughly.  It was interesting and educational to learn the history of Singapore and Suzhou on how do they start up the Suzhou Industrial Park and the history that was involved in it.

Symbol - Cloud.  As it was like the cloud that covered the understanding while listening to the gallery talk.

Colour - Grey.  It symbolises the colour of the factory machines.  We tried assembling the different parts to form a control of the water pump.  We learnt that it takes a lot of processes to form a control and the workers in the factory are very skilled and fast, thus very efficient.  We need to learn how to pick up skills quickly and work faster.

Symbol - Square with arrow on sides.  As it looks like a part of the control.

Colour - Brown.  As it symbolises the history.  We get to understand more about the history of the Suzhou Industrial Park and what it takes to build the SIP it is today like the decision making and the challenges faced.  It makes us feel grateful for what we have now and be grateful to everyone who helped built the SIP.

Symbol - Left Arrow.  As it is like memories, going backwards.

Colour - Green.  Today at Huan Li, our main objective was to reassemble the water control pump, so we spent most of the time on the green assembly belt.  I have learnt a lot from the mentor on how the product works and how they assemble it.

Symbol - Upward Green Arrow.  I feel that Huan Li is innovating faster than anyone else, it can be seen in their workers, efficiency and determination on getting the product to work.

Image.  At Huan Li, they take their quality test very seriously.  They take an extra step in testing their products and I feel this reflects in their values by not shipping out faulty products to profit from the customers.
Colour - Red.  I chose red because it represents Singapore flag , since Singapore was part of the fast growing development of Suzhou Industrial Park.

Symbol - Upward Arrow.  SIP is definitely innovating as fast as Singapore did.  Therefore, I feel that SIP is moving up since they have a very bright future ahead.  It was interesting to learn about the past and development of SIP.
